They aren’t separate in the world of work, and they aren’t separate in your experience in the School of Theatre, Film & Television.

Our extraordinary faculty offers comprehensive training in the art and business of storytelling. Whether that story is told on stage, on screens, or in the emerging world of media and entertainment, you will be given the education, training, and hands-on experience to become artistic makers and leaders for the future.

Part of our commitment to prepare you for your future career is our extensive internship program. These opportunities allow you to engage the professional area of your choice and learn from experienced practitioners by working alongside them.

Welcome to one of America’s most exciting arts environments. Come join us and take your place with talented colleagues who share your passion for the study, the business, and the art of storytelling. IDIWS Sneak Peek: THE LAST CRAWL by Kaleb Monsoon Beard. Two friends must complete wacky tasks at different bars to find their unpredictable buddy before he misses the job interview of a lifetime.

“I really look up to great comedians comedy writers like Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and I love everything Donald Glover has created. Their ability to bring comedy to real life situations, while also forming strong bonds, and good dramatic moments really stand out to me. This film was definitely a product of watching Seth Rogen films on repeat and trying to access the special comedic dynamic they capture in those films,” says writer/director Kaleb Beard.

Premiering at I Dream in Widescreen 2024! More info and tickets at idiw.tftv.arizona.edu.

OPENING NIGHT ✨

Two couples find themselves fighting for love while battling matchmaking and manipulation machinations in Shakespeare’s beloved romantic comedy MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.

“This play has always intrigued me because it is, in a way, a drama wrapped in a comedy. Or a comedy that dips into drama. It’s a sometimes hilarious, sometimes difficult story that teaches us something about how we relate to each other and how we play out first, second and third impressions in our relationships,” says Much Ado director Assoc. Prof. David Morden. “This production has been a joyous collaboration with professional designers, UA faculty and students. In particular, Holden Jones and Catherine Kim have contributed fantastic choreography to the production that is fun, unusual and an enormous boon to telling this story.”

‘Much Ado About Nothing’ will have performances from April 18 – 28 in the Marroney Theatre. Visit theatre.arizona.edu for tickets.

FREE TICKETS to the production are available for all college and high school students. For details, visit azart.fyi/freetftvtix. The free student ticket program is provided by the College of Fine Arts via support from the Office of the Provost.

Lighting Design by Brooke Ford. Sound Design by Ellen Sipos. Technical Direction by Daniel Staggs. Stage Managed by Kathryn Kulaga.

Break a leg!!

We’re excited to share that Tatum Sailors (BFA Film & Television ’24) has signed with the film and television production and management company Zero Gravity Management with manager Matt DiPaolo. This marks the first time a UA School of Theatre, Film & Television film student has signed for representation before graduating!

It was the success of Sailors’ documentary At 7, made in Prof. Jacob Bricca’s Documentary Production class, that initially caught DiPaolo’s eye. The short film gained attention on the festival circuit, with screenings at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival and San Diego Comic-Con among numerous others across the country.

“Before even signing, Matt has been a fantastic mentor,” says Sailors. “He has given me great advice and introduced me to many industry professionals over the past few months. Matt’s kindness and genuine interest in my passions made signing an obvious choice. I absolutely cannot wait to further my career as a cinematographer, and I cannot thank Matt enough for deciding to represent me.”

Tatum Sailors’ senior thesis film ‘Dear Addie’ will premiere alongside those of her filmmaker classmates at I Dream in Widescreen, TFTV’s signature annual showcase, at the Fox Tucson Theatre on Saturday May 4 - more information and tickets at idiw.tftv.arizona.edu.

Congratulations, Tatum!
