AMATUER NIGHT AT THE APOLLO ONLINE AUDITION

Thank you for your participation in auditions for Amateur Night at the World Famous Apollo Theater. To be eligible for this competition, you must be authorized to work in the United States and available to perform on the designated show date.  All decisions concerning any portion of the live performance are solely at the discretion of the Apollo Theater and its Producer. Selected contestants will be notified via telephone.

Please use the form below to audition for the original Amateur Night at the Apollo. This is NOT for the televised shows It’s Showtime at the Apollo or Apollo Live. Amateur Night is a live show performed at the Apollo Theater every Wednesday night, in New York City. Since its inception in 1934, Amateur Night has been one of the longest-running continuous events in New York City, gaining global recognition for launching the careers of thousands of  performers and attracting audiences from all over the world. Amateur Night has long been revered by artists as a transformative experience where up-and-coming talent feel the power of the legendary performers who have come before them, and where audience responses can help make or break a career. Ella Fitzgerald, Lauryn Hill, Machine Gun Kelly aka MGK and H.E.R. are just a few of the legendary performers who launched their careers on the Apollo stage. 

AMATEUR NIGHT CONTESTANT ELIGIBILITY

  • All contestants must be considered an Amateur to enter the competition. For the Amateur Night show, an Amateur is considered to be anyone who does not have a current music recording, film or television contract with a major studio.
  • Amateur Night at the Apollo contestants who have won a GRAND FINALE competition in the previous year cannot compete for at least one year before returning to the competition.
  • Any contestant(s) under the age of 18 MUST have parental permission to audition and compete. The parent or guardian MUST sign the Amateur Night at the Apollo Waiver Form.
  • Apollo employees, temporary employees, current interns, and independent contractors and their respective subsidiaries, parent companies, partners, sponsors, advertising & promotional agencies and the immediate family members of each, and any persons living with any such employees are not eligible to compete in Amateur Night at the Apollo or win prizes. The term “immediate family members” includes spouses, significant others, children, stepchildren, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, siblings and their children.
